Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? 6 Attachment(s)
Hey fellas! How sharp does your brain feel, today?
Prior to seeing these rails, I had heard they were for a 30/31 A. I need some because my car has none. A quick look and I knew they weren't. Still, I'd like to know what they are. The toe area is similar to my T roadster. It has firewall to frame brackets, too. The sill plate is like an A sedan. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1523899747 So, what exactly am I looking at here? |
Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Those are A rails for a two door. See the seat connections so the seat can be rotated forward to let rear seat passengers in.

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Does not look like any A frame rail that I have ever seen. I have a tudor and this is not it.

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Not chassis frame, subframe also called sub rail here by OP. 1 thing that strikes me as odd, in picture 2 of 6, the triangular filler with the large hole under the dash brace. Never saw that on an A. Any assembly plant #'s on front crossmember, left side?

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? I thought T's had wooden sub rails...;looks like a model A tudor to me.

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? 1926 to 1927 were all steel bodies, including, sub rails, just like the 1928 Model A's.
Before 1926, they were all wood, Herm. |
Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Looks very close to a 26-27 two door sedan. But you might be right about 28.

After looking at some pics, I think it's a 26/27 Tudor sedan subframe. |
Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Are the front seat pivots on any A's made like that? Both my old 29 and my 31 have forged eye bolt types.
|
Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? The subrails are 26-27 T Tudor, note the aluminum door sill plates and the metal plates that turn to hold the wooden floorboards in place. Bob .

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? Thanks everyone!

Re: Are these Model T or Model A Subrails? I have been working on and off for the last year,on an old friends 27 sedan. He was missing the very back subrail. I knew those looked familiar. Good luck on your project Brent.
