Installing the driver side visor on a '40

When the shop put the new headliner in, I had already removed the visor so they didn't think to mark the location of the slot & 3 screws. I checked an old '40 stock car out back, and made a template that helped me locate the slot & screw holes. Now I would like to know if there is some form of pad between the steel visor mounting flange and the headliner, and what length the screws are.
Thank you Fordbarners.

There is no pad between the headliner and body nor is there a pad between the visor bracket and liner.
You can locate the holes for the visor bracket with a push-pin.
Screws are oval head slotted. As I recall, about 3/4" in length.
I hope the folks that installed the liner did not make it too tight in that area. They should have installed the visor(s) as part of the headliner installation.

" Kube" make a good point about headliner being too tight. The headliner is really not made for 'long stretches". I made that same mistake when I installed my headliner and had to use a 1/2 inch thick rubber pad between the metal bracket and the inside of the headliner which required longer screws. Be sure to get screws with the exact same thread pitch as the OEM, otherwise you will not be able to secure visors adequately. Be patient as this "correction" can easily become a nightmare. Where latex gloves so as not to soil your headliner from perspiration.

The headliner is wool, and has quite a bit of stretch. I will see if I have any original 3/4" long screws as the news ones are junk as the head is too small and sinks in to far.

Your headliner is wool? Why?
