purpose of hole in door

I submitted this a couple weeks ago, but thought I would attach this photo. I can't figure out what the purpose, if any, this hole would serve. It is on the top of the drivers door, on the hinge side. Any ideas? Thanks.

Just a guess: perhaps for hanging the door while priming ?
