94 carb.
 

the two low speed idle jets on the back off the carb. is two and 1/2 turns out enough ?. thanks for any info. Jack.

start with 1 1/2 turns out from a gentle seating--just did two 94's and never moved the screws after firing up

That‘s more than adequate. Most people start at 1-1.5 turns from a light seating. Then go for the highest idle rpm or preferrably the highest manifold vaccum reading.

I would think that if you have to run 2 1/2 turns out, something isn't quite right.

I agree.

The old way, w/o a vacuum gauge, is to set the idle as low as you can, first then, start at 1 1/2 turns and turn the screw in, until the revs drop, then turn it out, the same way. Count the turns and set it in the middle. Do it twice, after the first time, reset the idle.

You didn't say if it's one carb, or more. With two or more carbs, you have to set the throttle plate opening, first.

Hi . I set the idle at 500. The vac. gauge read 19 in. the rpm now is 700 the dwell is 34 ?? is that good or ok. dis. is a chev. the air scews are 1 1/2 turns out. starts and runs good. thanks again Jack.
