Motometer repairs

Any words of wisdom on replacing a red tube assy. in a full size motometer?
I bought a replacement , but how do you get the old one out?
I would assume that it is threaded into the circle base.
I tried turning but no luck! Should I heat it up ??
Thanks!!!

1st, what is the problem with the one in the meter? The tube is set in a hard cement. Once you get the end of the cover off you have to dig it out with a dental pick.

Sometimes they set them in a plaster that can be dissolved with raw vinegar.

Thanks to all!
I have an old one that is broken off.
I will remove and replace with new one .
I wonder if body filler (BONDO) would be a good choice of adhesive?
Thanks all!

Not sure Bondo would be good only because of the heat. It wouldn't be my first choice any way. Look for some adhesive that's 1: somewhat heat resistant and 2: will adhere to metal
