Need some help identifying these hubs/drums 1 Attachment(s)
I realize this are early, but I am a '40 guy so I don't have much experience with older Fords. So what year or years would these be ? Thank you.

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums They look like the ones on my '34....I think they're common to 35's as well. '32 to '35???
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums To my eyes they look like 32-34.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums What width shoes would they be for?
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Measure the depth for a "close" figure.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Definitely 32-34... 35 are similar but easily identified in as much as they are ribbed.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums If they measure 11 inches they are late '31...if they measure 12 inches they are '32 or later...

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums They measure about 11 3/4" in depth, so would those be A or later EV8 ? Thank you all !
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums The 11" or 12" measurement referred to above is the inside diameter of the drum where the brake shoes/linings fit, not the depth of the drum/hub assembly. Further, nothing after the '32-'34 version have that identical exterior appearance.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums I think it may be a mis spelling of 1-3/4" If that is the width they are 32-34 and made for 1-1/2" shoes.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Mart,
That makes sense (that it isn't eleven, but rather one). |
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums To clarify what I mean by depth; The width of the swept area of the brake shoe in the ID of the drum is 11 3/4". So are we in agreement they are '32-34 ? Thank you.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Like Mart said do you mean 1 3/4" width not 11 3/4" and what is the diameter?
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Sorry, the width of the swept area for the shoes in the ID of the drum is 1.750, or 1 3/4".
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums The easiest dimension for establishing whether or not they are Model A drums or '32-'34 drums is the inside diameter of the swept area. If that diameter is not 12" or a slight fraction over 12" (from wear) then they are not '32-'34 drums.
Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums Thank you. I miked the ID of the swept area and it was 12.000", which makes sense as the OD is thick. I have several other pairs and they are all over 12.000" ID. I appreciate everyone's help and patience.

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums '32-'34 and if you want to sell those measuring 12.000" that are not scarred, I'm your buyer, please.
