Pan gaskets with no holes for screws
 

First time putting a flat head together. The gasket set I bought has no holes for the pan screws. Has anyone used these gaskets before?
I'm thinking I can poke a hole through the gasket after they are bonded on the block and just let the pan screws work their way down through the gasket material when I screw them in.
Will this work?

Alex, I wouldn't try it. All you need is a slight lump here and there to create a major mess on your garage floor. To do it right, you'd have more time and effort into it than it's worth.

What brand of gaskets did you buy? It sounds like the pan gasket slipped thru the process without getting punched, I'd take it back.

I've seen some cork that are punched , but you have to push the little circles out of the gasket to use it. Maybe?

Bolts,
on an unrelated event I am pulling the floor pan from my 42 for the third time.
Last time I put new rubber down and just kinda halfassed the install. I also had to fight with the bolts because of it.
This time I am taking the time to do it right, which would be a lot easier if I had taken the time to do it right last time.
Just saying.
