Question

I have a complete model A rear end that is fully rebuilt with new bearings / races / seals with 3:54-1 ring & pinion and it is painted. This includes drive shaft & torque tube. Ready to install, was going to use it in my wife's Vicky but she past-a-way.
Looking for what would be a good value for it

Re: Question

Add up the cost of the new parts and add a few hundred for labor and original parts. Now you should be in the ballpark.

Re: Question

Well, naturally it is only worth what someone will give, ...and it also depends on how thorough a rebuild truly was (i.e.: were the housings straightened?, were new hub races installed?, were the spring hanger bushings and the shock link balls replaced? etc., etc.). To have one professionally rebuilt as suggested above using a 3.54 R&P, new axles, machined and painted will cost around $2.3k. The last I knew, a 3.54 R&P with freight was near $500 alone. A hobbyist-rebuilt one should at minimum be worth what the parts are new, but again if no one near you perceives it as a value at the price of materials, Ronn may be correct at $500.00.
