Re: 1940 Battery I also have a 1940 and always thought a Group 1 was the correct battery until I tried a Group 2 and found it was the correct fit. Same in my friend's 1937 pickup.

Re: 1940 Battery I always had hot start problems with a Group 1 that I never had with a Group 2 (I think it was actually a "2L"). They are quite a bit larger.
The Group 1's are for "lesser" engines such as Chevrolet and Plymouth sixes (and some tractors).:D |
