19” radial tire question

I have a 1931 Tudor that needs tires. I have been looking at the Excelsior 19” radials that Coker sells. Is anyone here running them, and if so, what advice do you have? I have no experience with radials on an A, but friends who run 16s sure like them. The tires I have now were on the car when I bought it. They are Universal drivers. I really have no complaints with them.

Thanks for your response.

Re: 19” radial tire question

I have the 5.50 R tires and I think they are a better fit for the 19 in. wheels than the 5.00 R 19's. Close rolling distance as for my Firestone distance. Therefore The speed and odometer remain very accurate. I have found that 40# pressure works best for me on my 30 Fordor. I. have also found that no more than 1/16 inch toe-in helps with tire wear and the track or steering is not affected ( no wandering).

I could only say "ditto" to the above. I think they are great!

I agree with Steve & Carl.
I have 5.50's on my '30 coupe and they run great.

Re: 19” radial tire question

All this was discussed a short while ago here and the 5.00R19 tyres were too often faulty. The 5.50R10's were OK.
