Fan Clutch 1941 Ford Tudor Flathead V8, Fan mounted on crankshaft. Has anybody installed a modern fan clutch? Thanks, Larry

Re: Fan Clutch Whatever you come up with needs to have at least as much fan blade area and pitch as the stock fan, because the crank mounted fan does not get the "overdrive" speed of a separately mounted fan with a pulley smaller than the crank pulley.
Reminder to all crank mounted fan owners, be very careful if you turn the engine over by pulling on the fan blades; they bend easier than you might think. |
Re: Fan Clutch The purpose of a fan clutch is to save engine power which I doubt you would even notice
You may be better off adapting a flex-blade fan with more blades that pump a lot of air at low engine speed and less at high RPM's. |
Re: Fan Clutch Thanks for the comments. Think I just stay original.
