Double AA Lug wrench? As per judging standards it calls for a 15" lug wrench, were these made by BUDD? Picked up a 14 3/4" with BUDD 18806 and on other side it has 70 83 47-4; the 15" has BUDD 18806. Can the 15" be used for judging on the AA?

Re: Double AA Lug wrench? Check over on the AA Forum. I don't have a lug wrench for a AA to check.

Re: Double AA Lug wrench? I have the book written by David Adair, “A guide to Tools for the Model A” second edition2005.
In the book it states that the JS call for a length of 15” but he has never seen one and all he has seen were 12”. He does not mention a part number so I would think that the originals did not have a P/N on them. |

Re: Double AA Lug wrench? Ok the one with the Budd 18806 and the number 70 83 47-4 14 3/4" is for Dodge. So can we assume that the 15" can be used for AA Judging with just the Budd 18806?

Re: Double AA Lug wrench? I have a 15" one with no numbers visible on it. I also have a Budd wrench with a number, and different length, which I am guessing is a little later than the AA wrench.

Re: Double AA Lug wrench? 1 Attachment(s)
Attached is a re-draw of Ford engineering drawings of the AA starting cranks and wheel wrenches which is being proposed for the 2014 update of the JS section E. Note that these do not agree with the current JS.
AA-17035-B is the wheel nut wrench for the 1-1/2" hex. wheel nuts. AA-17034 is the handle. No marking are specified on the Ford engineering drawings. Note the locations of the holes for the handles. |
