Draglink rubs against brake actuator housing

3 Attachment(s)
The drag link on my 1931 coupe rubs underneath the brake actuating arm housing when I turn right and then when I straighten up. I also have about a 2 inch lean on the driver side. I'm thinking the lean is spring related but not sure about the rubbing on the drag link. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My drag ling showed evidence of having rubbed on the tie rod. The spindle arm was bent.

I replaced it with a rebuilt (new ball-ends) arm from Bert's. I'll attach a picture that I hope shows the clearance I have on the brake actuator housing....and it now clears the tie-rod.

This is a '29 ccpu.....

Re: Draglink rubs against brake actuator housing

One of 3 problems most likely.
1. Front spring sagging and causing angle of drag link to rub on tied rod (very common) and drag link clearance and angle very close. You should see a definite gap between spring and axle.

2. Possible junk repro spring perch (older repro or otherwise ) and causing incorrect brake operating shaft alignment.

3. Bent drag link and or steering arm. Ensure steering arm flat is correctly positioned against spindle.

One of the above is my bet.
Check them out and hopefully you will see a culprit.
