1947 Mercury Convertible DRIVER FLATHEAD

City: Charlotte
State: NC
Price: $22k obo

What we have here is a 1947 Mercury convertible that I bought here on the HAMB back 2 years ago. I was an old custom that had shaved door handles and an early hemi. The floors and trunk were pretty bad and the gas tank was full of dirt. The motor and transmission were long gone, but it came with a ton of parts. I started working on it slowly but velocity increased and here we are running and driving today. Perfect car for ice cream on Sunday afternoons. The photos can be seen at this link:

Many of the photos are in process photos, so you can see how the car was put together.

Here is what has been done:
Completely rebuilt 8BA flathead to stock specifications
Rebuilt Ford 3 speed transmission
Complete rewiring from bumper to bumper with modern fuses
Rebuilt brakes, new brake lines, and updated suspension
Drop axle by Andy Kohler
Reversed main leaf front and rear
Hydro dipped dash and garnish mouldings
New Autometer guages - all working!
New TANKS fuel tank and fuel lines
New radiator
Factory 15 x 5 inch wheels painted and double pin striped
New interior with factory front and rear seats
New windshield
All door risers and glass are in great condition
Door and truck handles work as they should
Cowl vent is stock and operational
Factory floors were cut out of a 2 door sedan and welded in, and a new truck floor was welded in
Rear fenders were repaired of rust on bottom front edges

Here is what is still missing:
Paint job
Convertible top
A driver.

In addition to the car you get ALL of the extra parts (bring a U Haul truck) including front and rear fenders, hood, garnish , trim trim and trim etc etc. Contact me for more photos or any questions you might have. I have a clear title in hand. Thanks - Curt 704-918-6 two seven two
