'35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin? 3 Attachment(s)
I'm trying to pull the pin out of the Steering Wheel Lock Plunger -- some of the reading I've done calls it a "nail" -- but having no luck. Most "how-to" articles just say "remove pin..." (It's #10 on the diagram below).
Any secrets to yanking this guy out? A second question: With this pin in place, the "plunger" will not currently retract far enough to slide the entire column drop off the column tube. Is this normal? Thanks. |
Re: '35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin? Got the pin out....
Is there a source for these pins? For other parts and pieces to this assembly? |

Re: '35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin? Grab the pin in a small pair of vise grip pliers as tight as you can make it and then with a long shaft screw driver pry up on the the tip of the jaws of the pliers.

I grabbed the pin with a small pair of vice grips, then clamped a larger pair on and used it to pry out the pin. |
