[B]Who has used and installed Mustang l l front suspension on their 1953-- 56 Ford F- 100 , also who's kit did you use---- am not looking for a sub-frame set-up or other--- Thanks

Use a crown vic suspension from a 2003 or later.It's a better deal.

Just one remark. I talked to a lot of guys with MII front ends, before I decided to go a different way on my 'bird. Mostly street rod, not trucks. Several said they were short on suspension travel, especially using coil overs instead of springs. Would be worth asking about, no matter who's kit you use.

I am extremely happy with the MII with QA1 coil overs on my 40 coupe.

Problem with MII is that it's too narrow for a pickup and doesn't have enough spring travel. As mentioned, '03 and later Crown Vic is the way to go. The ball joints and bushings were designed to run forever, and they will. Regardless of who makes the aftermarket kits, the control arm bushings are too small and won't last (unless all you want to do is park at the car shows) The factory CV brakes are more than adequate for a pickup and you can buy them at any parts store instead of some overpriced go-fast shop. Best of all a CV suspension is nearly a bolt in on a 53-up pickup

I have to disagree with Craig just a bit. The Mustang II in my 36 was put in the car before "kits" were available. That was in 1983. It has close to 100K miles on it, passes the NSRA safety inspection every year and is fitted with across the counter parts (calipers, 11" rotors, hoses, and bearings). The lower ball joints were replaced once because they were still the same that were in the donor vehicle. The power rack has an unknown number of miles on it. The car weighs in at 3250 lbs. and rides very well.

The CV suspension is a good unit without doubt, but, it is right on the edge of being too wide. Wheel choice is limited due to the width.

The "kit" from Fat Man puts the wheels out where you want them. It is not a "real" M II but rather M II based. They can be had with over the counter parts or custom stuff for those that want fancy....
