Ok so I saw this eBay ad for four 6 volt positive ground LED light bulbs on e-bay (picture 1). They were only 5 bucks with free shipping so I figured, "what the heck", and ordered them.

Well they arrived from China yesterday (picture 2). LOL!!!

You at least filled a families rice bowl for a month, depending on how big the family is.................;)

Here's the listing...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-6V-6VOLT-...dYGaJ-&vxp=mtr

I hate to say this, but the bulbs shipped are exactly as described. As is the country of origin.

There are 223 other listings for these bulbs. They are a popular size (especially for Porsche and VW)...just not for a Model A...

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...bulbs&_sacat=0

From the picture and description I can't think of anyplace they would fit and work in a Model A. Hopefully you have a friend with a vintage Porsche or VW. :)

I had the same with my ebay purchase : H4 LED lamps for my 30y old Audi.
They DON'T fit ! Wrong polarity (+ on the lamp is where the - of my Audi wiring is).
I'm not going to change the wiring of the car.
I lost (only) 3.60 euro for both lamps.

LOL.........I made the same purchase 2 months ago, and I'm still going round and round with the seller. I can NOT convince him that these are NOT positive ground. They are NEGATIVE ground, never mind the odd tangs to lock them in place.

Another 5 bucks wasted.

Sorry about your loss guys but what's wrong with a conventional bulb?
Would you use led's in you headlights?
Guess I'm old fashioned

I don't think it will be long before someone comes up with a conversion to do just that. We have LED tail lights already!

It's for a turn signal project, where larger regular bulbs won't fit. In fact I'd like to get an LED strip to fit between the bumper bars, but not much luck in finding 6 volt LED's, and especially positive ground, if that matters.

Some modern cars already have them and there are kits to replace them in cars that don't have them.

Maybe you could just drop the voltage to 6v. I know the 60's mopars used a resistor or something like that to lower the gas gauge voltage to 5 or 6 volts

yup, I put the kit in my 95 s10. Work pretty well. Dark country roads they work better but city potholes are harder to see for some reason. I think its more to do with my eyes adjusting. Anything reflective like road signs, parked car reflectors, animal eyes I can see way way farther away with the leds.

Thanks, there is a good possibility on the second link, which has 1156 and 1157 types in 6 volt positive ground.:)

Has anyone had any luck finding a LED for the dash light for a 30/31?

The bulb I currently have is a GE #63.

Re: "You get what you pay for!" LOL!

I found one, on Aliexpress.com. Let's see...found it. I ordered it because it is extremely bright and lights up practically the whole cab. It is very large and I had to remove the cover. The seller is not selling this one anymore. Here's the description:
1156 BA15S P21W 68 SMD
I see it is on Amazon too for $5 a pair.
Good luck!
