oil pump drive gear removal

I just got a reground cam and the gear which drives the oil pump is not there. My qusetion is how hard is it to press on a new one? I have several other cams that I could remove one from but would need to know the best way to remove it as well. These are all round inside and not the type with the flat edge.
Thanks,
Joe

Buy a new gear from Mac's or other parts house. One of the few things that will cause a Flathead failure is the gear slipping on the cam. I have seen this several times. Don't take a chance on a used gear.

I had that happen to me. Bottom line, no oil pressure and ruined bearings. Only found the cause by accident. Pulled the cam and had a machine shop drill and pin the gear to the cam.

Thanks for the advise. I have a new one ordered. Back to my original question though...How can you press on the new gear? Do I need to take it to a machine shop or is this something I can do myself without damaging anything?
