Painting hood hardware on '32 car
 

Are '32 hood handles and hood hold sockets painted body color or black? I don't recall ever seeing them painted different than body color but studying parts from two non black hoods I am finding traces of black paint on both items and seeing original color underneath them on hood sides. Black or body color--which is correct?

All were painted the same color as the surrounding surface, namely body color.
