Here is one I bought on eBay. They appear often. With type the grease gun attaches to the spreader and injects the grease into the spring.

Bought new front spring. What is the best way to lube before I install? Man spricht Deutsch.

Werner's tool is called a Knowlson spring spreader. They show up on eBay occasionally, I think there's two up now. There's a similar tool called a tomahawk spring spreader that actually integrated a tube of grease into the tool handle. These are often associated more with Model Ts.

I should note that you can also get excellent results with a pair of flathead screwdrivers and a hammer. Here's a thread I started last year regarding this operation:

Frau auch? Die neuen Federblaetter habe ich mit MoS2-Gleitlack beschichtet.

I coated the new spring leaves with MoS2 lubricating varnish (OKS 521). It is very important that the surfaces are degreased very carefully. Each layer of paint must be hard dried before the next layer is sprayed on.

I didn't spray the above showed old front spring with grease, but with anti-corrosion wax (Fuchs Anticorit BW 366).
