what is a fair price...

What would you say is a fair price for a running, complete 292 y block?
What about that same motor with a three speed behind it?

Thanks for any input

I've seen the engine and transmissions together on the west coast go from 500.-$1200. depending on the condition...the key is to find out last time it ran and if it was ever rebuilt....and how long has it sat inside or out?.....gump

Location would be ct, currently running. No idea on the rebuild, but I have no reason to believe it is not the original motor from a 9x,xxx mile car. Car has been in the same family for about 20 years. Stored in the engine bay hood down.

Depends on the year and displacement also. A '57 292 or 312 would be the most expensive in my opinion..
