Smith & Jones

I hope this is the proper place to ask this question. Has anyone ordered parts from a antique parts company called Smith & Jones Antique Auto Parts? They are located in West Columbia, South Carolina. Just asking because I placed an order with them and have received no correspondence from them in email or otherwise. I can go to their site and find a order number and invoice but nothing else.

Thanks Lstinker. Just a little concerned. I've ordered from Mac's in the past and have had no problems at all. I usually get a confirmation email immediately from them. Their shipping costs seem to be a little high but they say Fed Ex sets their rates. This was my first order from this supplier

I have ordered from them in the past with no problems. They were setup at the MARC membership meet a couple of weeks ago.

Call Davin Smith. They are most helpful. I live in Columbia, SC and get all my parts there.

Hey guys I'm new at this. I'm just being cautious when I place order for parts from a distributor that doesn't use PayPal or take a credit card straight on their site. Smith and Jones uses a Mal e-commerce payment site that is unfamiliar to me. They did contact me today and all seems good.

Good Model A parts dealer. Second generation operation. I have been buying from them for 40 plus years.

Don they seem to be a good bunch of guys to deal with. Not arguing that. Do you deal with them locally or through their web site? As I said before they send their payment dealings through a web site called Mal's ecomerce that is based in Isle O Man United Kingdom. Checked them out on the web and they looked to be on the up and up. I'm not being trying to be hard to get along with here, just being cautious with on line purchases.

Re: Smith & Jones

Smith & Jones Antique Auto Parts is in West Columbia, SC, about 90 miles from me, so I seldom go to the parts counter. I just pick up the phone and call their order desk: 1-800-422-1928. Amelia and Anna have both worked there for many years and are familiar with the parts and can take your order. I pay with my credit card. When I place an order before noon, I usually receive it on the next day. Davin Smith is the nephew of the original owner (Gary Smith who passed away not long ago). Davin has also worked there for many years and is now the owner. If you have a technical question, Davin is the person to talk to. Davin also drives a Model A.

There are some specialty parts that I purchase from other vendors such as A&L and Bratton's. But for most items, I depend on Smith & Jones. They have been around for many years. I think I first purchased from them in the early 1980's. Their prices are competitive with Snyder's and most other vendors. They have a printed catalog available.
