radiator mounts for 29 ccpu
 

Could someone tell the thickness of the rubber radiator mounts.

Not very thick, maybe 1/8"???

In October 1929 the relative position of the flat area where the radiator mounts was changed "downward" in anticipation of the new body styles. As an interim fix, Ford added a square washer to "build up" this area and present the original 1928-29 mounting dimensions. At least until the earlier body styles had been used up.

This is written up in the Service Bulletins.

The 29CC and RPU pickup continued to be made until May 1930, with the 1929 pattern truck bodies made after 1930 or so being fitted with 1930ish type quarter turn gas caps. The so called "transitional" tank.

Joe K, it is kinda interesting that the Service Bulletins did not come out and state why the change was made. obviously the Company did not want people blabbing that a new body style was in the offing, fearing that sales would drop in anticipation.
