1936 Ford Pickup Can anyone help me locate a picture of what the spare tire bracket for a 1936 ford pickup looks like?
Does anyone have one for sale. Thank You |
Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Here ya go!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-ford-pi...4c45c6&vxp=mtr I notice the seller mentioned it came from a '37. I'll take a look at mine later and see if it looks the same. |
Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Lawson Cox should have some pics for ya....hopefully he'll chime in when he checks the 'Barn....and welcome to the 'Barn.....Mike

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Mine is like the one pictured in the ad but without the band over the top. The one pictured is for a 37'. This must have been a change after 36'. Probably an improvement as I have had to resort to using rope to tie mine in at the top.

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Looks just like mine . Mine doesn't have the band over the top to lock the tire on.

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Welcome to the Barn. Be aware that when you tighten your spare wheel onto your new bracket there is a lot of play in the wheel, this is annoying but normal.

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup I have several pictures and a factory drawing, but I have a new computer and cannot seem to be able to pull one up. I'll keep working on it.

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup I have one from my '36 pickup. PM me with your e-mail address so that I can send you pics if you like.

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup Sent you pics of the one I have to your e-mail address posted in this thread. Did you receive?

Re: 1936 Ford Pickup I believe the 36 and 37 halfton pickups (and panel deliveries) used the same spare rod and spare flange. The top strap was used if you also had the frying pan like locking spare option on the pickup, otherwise there was no top strap.
The 35 spare rod is a one year rod and the 38/9 has two "eyes" in the middle rather than the one on the 36/7. |
Re: 1936 Ford Pickup The one posted on eBay has the top strap used with the locking spare as well as the mounting flange. It also has the small brace like bracket that helps support the barand the spacer. It appears that they cut the bolt that passes through the spacer, but that can be easily replaced. If the threads on the botton are good, and they appear to be because the nut is on it, you should have no problems with the one on eBay. The price is certainly reasonable...at the moment.
