Tudor front seat I am trying to adapt front seats from a Cessna 185 for my 31 Tudor.can anyone give me the measurement from the front leg to the rear leg? Does the rear leg rest on the second cross channel?

Re: Tudor front seat My 30 Tudor measures 14.75 “ from the front seat mount bracket at the floor to the spot where the seat rests on the floor at the rear. The seat sits on the wood floor at the rear.My front seat mounts are reversed to give me a little extra leg room. With The 1 “ offset the seat would be 2” farther forward in the stock position. Re: Tudor front seat Please post pics when you're done, I'm 6'8" and I'm looking for ideas to make more leg and head room and still have a usable rear seat in my '31 Tudor. Right now I have to take my shoes off to drive her.

Re: Tudor front seat Not to hi-jack the thread, but I have the 'extenders' on my tudor front seats. These move the seat back and up in front. It really makes a difference in my ease of driving.

Re: Tudor front seat I went to a junk yard and got a seat out of an early 90s Saturn. Took the slide mech. out
and narrowed it with some 1" by 1/8" angle iron and added some lugs on top to mount the original seat and put an angled a piece at the rear for the back of the seat. So the seat stays original. I adjust 6" fore and aft like a modern seat. Sorry no pictures. It bolts to the front cross member like original. |
Re: Tudor front seat Silly question
Do you only need to buy two extenders ( only in the front) for the drivers seat? Rossco |
Re: Tudor front seat another option: my Tudor I drove for 14 years had a very uncomfortable driver's seat.
I got a passenger seat from a 240 Volvo and had an adapter bracket welded for it- VERY comfortable for long tours. (of course that was 25 years ago when 240s were much more common in junkyards) |
Re: Tudor front seat Abachman3 - Can you please let us know where you got your 'extenders'? They sound like what I need..... Thanks!

Re: Tudor front seat Bert has them for $49 a pair.
I am 6'4" and replaced my seat brackets with the extended ones and even after that moved the drivers seat ones back another 2". Still room in back seat for "small" passenger. Some "tall" guys have also bent the shifter offsetting the top portion a couple of inches for more room. Kinda tight when breaking and then shifting into first gear... Re: Tudor front seat Thanks chap52.... Abachman3, is this what you are using??

Re: Tudor front seat My extenders were on the car when I bought it... but I do see them listed in the catalogs of the major vendors.

Re: Tudor front seat OK, thanks!
