33/34 roadster windshield frame

May be stupid question but I have a frame with the width of the frame rails the same on all four sides and the same front and back. I have another that top frame rail is same front and back BUT the bottom and side rails have the front wider than the back.....thus the rubber sits in a trough that not "U" shaped but "J" shaped. I believe from pixs that frame with ALL rails front and back are the same width is OEM correct?????? If so what is with the frame with the frame width front and back not the same?
Thank you

Ed,Orig frames are wider on the front face than the back on the sides and bottom(stepped). They also have a slight crown and not flat on the face. The early repop frames made in the 70's had more of a crown -kinda looked fat.

Re: 33/34 roadster windshield frame

Sorry, but it's the frame with with offsets that is the original. '32 frames had equal sides, but with the further slanting of the windshield posts in '33, it became necessary to shorten the inner width in order to clear the top of the cowl. Some reproduction '33-34 frames were made with equal side widths all around, but they do not fit properly.
