1937 roll out crank retainer clip

What does the retainer clip look like for the 37 car. I am using mine to roll the windshield in and out, but I have to retainer clip. All I could find so far is the clip for the door handle, and they were pins in 1937. Thanks

It's been a while since I saw mine, but think it looks like this, it holds the crank to the dash, not to the operator.

Attached is a pic showing the parts involved with the regulator mechanism. Hope this helps.

On one of my 37's I used a C-clip (see pdf). I wanna say it was 9/16" ID but best to measure the regulator shaft diameter to be sure. The spring washer I was able to find at Ace Hardware.

Re: 1937 roll out crank retainer clip

Is it the spring washer between the handle and the dash, and the stop washer under the dash??

I have always "assumed" that both pieces are on the backside of the dash, but now that you bring it up, I am not 100% sure. BTW, the snap ring I mentioned earlier is 11/16", not 9/16".

Sidenote: there is a chromed finish trim piece that is on the front side of the dash. The handle itself rotates on this when opening/closing the windshield. Good luck finding that piece.

I may already have it. I can just slide a finger nail under something there. It looks like brass though..

You might be right about the brass...

Re: 1937 roll out crank retainer clip

I found some make shift parts. I found a 7/8" snap ring, and a metric wave washer. I have to bore out the washer just a little to fit. I will go somewhere else to find the 11/16" snap ring.
