Is this oilpan protector original or not ? 2 Attachment(s)
This oilpan protector was under a 1937 Ford sedan. Original or special made ?

Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? Not a 37 "expert" but have had our 37 Station Wagon since I was 3 years old (ie since 1966) and "never" seen any kind of oil pan protector like that OR have been told we were missing such an Item!!! I would say "custom made".

Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? I am the second owner of a very low mileage '37 cabriolet which was missing nothing when I bought it 30 some years ago. No such pan is listed in either the Canadian or U.S. chassis parts catalogs nor is it mentioned in the V8 Club's very thorough book on '37s.

I couldn't disagree with either of you guys, but ya gotta admit that ANY factory would be proud of the detail and engineering seen in the manufacture of this piece! DD https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...4&d=1589563522 |

Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? must have worked-look at the sratch's

Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? I'm appreciating the fab work too. The beefy-ness is revealed from the bracketry... There's not even any slotted holes!
You think the stiffeners are rolled in or stamp pressed? That's some substantial material. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...3&d=1589563522 |

G'day Mart. That,s the one :). It was an American import. Must have been at least 25 years ago. Car became a street-rod and ARP conversion parts went to Skandinavia. All long gone but just recently found it while doing the Covid-19 clean-up:(. Still can,t figure out why anyone would have imported something like that . For those not familiar with snowmobile conversions the doors were sliced to step over the tracks and get inside. You can also see where the tracks hit the body. |

That,s a idea. Speed bumps are getting higher too ;). |
Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? I'm just guessing here but could it be from a tractor? 8/9N or ?
|
Re: Is this oilpan protector original or not ? I would assume it was part of the snowmobile conversion. Which would make sense, as in effect it was an off road application. The people doing the conversion parts would have some manufacturing capability.
