Broken gless

Hi, had a friend slam the door. Glass shattered. I’m just looking for the best way to repair. Thanks

Is just one source of said safety glass.

You can also try local glass shops as well.

You didn't mention the body style . On most if not all have a plate on the inside top of the door frame that attaches with three slot head screws . The glass is installed or replaced through the top of the door . Sometimes it may be necessary to remove the regulator to get the roller in the track on the bottom of the window .

Re: Broken glass

I broke a fairly new window glass on my 29 cc, it was safety glass, the door had a problem not staying closed, the glass was not all the way down, I grabbed the glass and slammed it closed, it broke, there are screws that hold the felt channel in, make sure the screws are not binding up with the glass. I fixed the door latch.
carry on

Re: Broken gless

Usually adjusting the striker plate too tight in an attempt to adjust a loose rattling door will cause the door to not stay fully closed .

Through the years I have owned several Model "A"s. After the third friend broke yet another door glass I learned to open the door and close the door for them. For whatever reason people think they need to slam the bejesus out of either an old car door or a truck door. That is the primary reason I stopped loaning out my pick up truck. I tell folks to rent one.

Re: Broken gless

I don't like for my doors to be slammed . It is best to never slam the door with the window part way up or down or it can result in a broken window . I have broken two oir three windows over the years myself .

I went to my local auto glass shop, they took care of me and it did not cost an arm and a leg, and I didn't have to wait or pay for shipping.

Re: Broken gless

Just purchased a passenger side glass for my Tudor locally for $47.00 installation was pretty easy. As a side note today I installed all the new door hardware and concluded it’s best to turn handle close/open door then release handle instead of slamming the door
