Model A street rod 1 Attachment(s)
This may be the wrong place, street rod wise that is. I was going to post some pics of a build we are doing but i can't get multiple images to post and I'm too lazy to keep trying so here's a pic of the engine. One piece front and rear main seals, A/C, power steering, serpentine set up.

Rear main finished no more rope!

Re: Model A street rod What's up with the rear main? This would get more interest on the V8 side.
Heads up on rules checks for the forum. You may not get any flack but it would be up for grabs with so many modifications. |

Re: Model A street rod See first post. I said I may be in the wrong place. 1. Maybe a moderator can move it to the V8 section. 2. If it's not welcome there just delete it altogether. I thought some might be interested in how we did this.

Re: Model A street rod If I had room for another project it would be a flat head V8 powered Model A. Keep posting.

Re: Model A street rod Hello GPierce. I'm just across the line from you in Olive Branch. I used to go to Toms cruise in behind Jims BBQ. I had no idea there were rules against this. Hopefully they'll move it to V8 or just get rid of me!

Model A and street rod...best to have one of each and keep the two separated by style.
Once you "hot rod" a Model A...it is no longer a "Model A" Just my humble opinion |
Re: Model A street rod Is this for main seal purposes only or a way to add strength in some way? It's a lot of work for some reason. Looks interesting for V8 guys.
Atomic Industry also has the HAMB where most of the traditional modified stuff is welcomed. Most guys on the Model A forum keep the four cylinders in their cars. The V8 Forum here on the barn has a mix and match and a lot of folks like both original and modified. Many also frequent the HAMB. I'm not a moderator and frequent the Barn and the HAMB so it doesn't bother me but I can't speak for the other multitude of folks on here. |
Re: Model A street rod I didn't think the Flathead needed seal improvement. How many cubic inches?
|
Re: Model A street rod I reposted this in early V8s with most of the pics and details. I asked the mods to delete this thread

Re: Model A street rod Kinda sad to see a flathead covered in billet :( :( :(
|
Re: Model A street rod I still use the rope seals. I never knew them to be problematic on those engines that use them. many of the older V8s use just a slinger on the rear with the drain back tube like the 4-cylinders so I can see why someone might want to change since others have added rubber seals before. It's a lot of work to do what the OP did. It would require pan mods too.
