Check out this old Movie. I can't work out if the car is a 1933 or 1934 Ford Fordor Sedan. Some early photos seem to indicated that it is a 34 model, but at the end, the smashed up car is definitely a 33 model. Then, when you look at the dash of the car that the driver is using, it is a 37 Ford dash with the wind-out windscreen. The things that they used to do with these old Fords.

That was entertaining. How they ever made those films is beyond me. How many cars did they wreck in rehearsal (if they even had any)? I believe that's an excerpt from a full length feature. On the negative side, who the hell is Robert Gordon? The first thing I did was mute it to get rid of the awful music. If you like this, he made a vignette in a film called "If I had a Million" in which he and Allison Skipworth (as retired vaudevillians) go hunting for "road hogs" with hilarious results. It is better structured than this, but I don't believe there is an old Ford fan in the world that will not be horrified by the last scene.

The film is titled "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break" (1941).

He was also complicite in wrecking an early thirties top of the line touring car (Lincoln Cadillac, Marmon?) in "The Bank Dick" (1941). This guy was hard on our cars!

I agree that most shots look like it is a 1933 Ford, but take a look at this shot, it appears that it is a 1934 Ford Sedan? Notice the different door handles to those in the earlier pictures?

This shot is definitely a 1933 Ford, as you can tell by the single handle on the hood. It is obvious that they used more than one car top make this movie.

Fabulous street scenes. Some lovely cars, but the film seems to be a random edit of the stunt scenes from the feature length film. Probably compiled for Saturday morning kids movie clubs. In the UK the ABC chain had ABC Minors - Hopalong Cassidy or Flash Gordon and some cartoons.

If you look close you will see the movie makers had numerous 33-34 cars . They used both 33's and 34's . Really liked the " prop " 33 carried by the ladder truck .

Kinda interesting that the windshield center bar on the 37 inside views is missing. Did the producer not want to distort the view or just want to make people believe it was an older car?

Back then, studios had fleets of cars they used interchangeably without much concern for continuity. If they were going to wreck one, they probably just bought a cheap used - just old cars then, not treasures like today.

High Sierra is famous among Plymouth guys - the coupe driven by "Mad Dog" Roy Earle (Humphrey Bogart) keeps changing between a 37 and a 38. :D

Here's a 33 std phaeton from tv 1959 . First is dennis the menace and second is The Donna Reed show . Note the same tag number . .

Yeah, he was getting chased by a Packard touring. A good scene. There is also a beautiful 1938 Buick Phaeton in that film.

In the beginning of the video when the camera pans to the lady in the back seat, you can see that the car is a coupe. Definitely used a lot of cars to film this. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.

The 3 Stooges also used a 33 standard phaeton, maybe same film company.
Not the one I have though, VERY low production something like 216 in the US. Last of the standard phaetons.
