1968 Ford Turbocharged Indy 255 Cubic Inch V8 Static Compresion Ratio

Been looking high and low for this info.

Found an article on 'Practical Turbocharging'.

Different engine but it said the static compression ratio was around 6.5 to 1.

Then they poured on the turbocharging and practical compression ratio was

much higher. Running on the edge of some serious detonation.

Anybody spend some time around Indy racing or somehow know this info?

Thanks.

Found it!

In a book called 'Ford Small Block V8 Racing Engines 1962 to 1970:The

Essential Source Book' 2014.

8 to 1 compression ratio.

That is the static compression ratio. What the parts produce without t

turbocharging.

Here is screenshot of Google book with page with info.

Note the 156 cu. in. and 11,000 RPM.Note the HP made. Yikes!
