1930 Murray Town Sedan Value

Hi all,

I'm new to the group and hoping to get an idea of the value of a 1930 Murray Town Sedan. Original black plate California car with a nut and bolt professional restoration (photo and receipt documented) in the 1980's including all the wood. Car runs and drives with very low mileage since restoration, but it has been stored inside for many years and needs some light TLC. Gas tank also needs to be properly cleaned as it was stored with fuel prior to my ownership. Has upgraded juice brakes as well as original 'pink' slip.

My father left me two Model A's and I can only keep one, so I'm looking for some advice on a fair value and good home for this one.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Mike

Hi Mike and welcome.

You will need to post some photos for someone to give you a serious value estimate. Good luck with your sale.

Easy way for pics:
Click the "blue post reply" lower left bottom of page, when text box opens, in the top middle of the bar you will see a "paperclip" next to the smiley face, click that, a window will open "manage attachments" click "choose file" then pick your picture, after you picked up to seven pics click the top "upload" on the right hand side of the text box, wait for it to upload.
You must type something, anything into the text box message, scroll down to see "preview post" at bottom of your text box, you should see your message as it will appear when you post, if you like it click "submit reply" to post.
Easy-cheesy

You need to get it running and driving for any good price. This includes taking all 4 wheels off and verifing all 4 'upgraded' brakes are still usable. Sitting usually causes the wheel cylinders to muck up. If the fluid leaked then it needs new linings.

Once you are safe to drive you need to run it some. Where does it feel safe to drive? If it is comfy at 50+ MPH then it is in good shape. If it feels not right above 45 then it still has issues.

This is a basic guide anyone should use to judge a value. If you can not do the work these fixes add up to thousands of dollars.

Oh, the who pro restoration thing. I know of a couple of cars that were professionally restored. The people each put around $8000 into the car to get them reliable and safe to drive.
