The Ford Barn - 1929 Rmble Seat Special Coupe Driver

This 1929 Special Rumble Seat Coupe was found in a garage last year after sitting for 40 years. I put in a complete new wiring harness, new rear brakes (the fronts were fine), new tires, new battery, rebuilt the Zenith carburetor, removed and cleaned the gas tank, and installed miscellaneous new parts to get it to where it is reliable and safe. It runs, drives, and stops great. Everything on it works as it’s supposed to. I’ve had it on the road for the last year.

The body is very solid with a little rust in a few places. The interior is far from original, but useable. It has original “patina” and is loved everywhere it goes. I love it too, but I’m 6 feet 3 inches tall and I don’t bend very well any more. It’s difficult for me to get in and out. I’d like to get a two door sedan in place of the coupe.

It’s a good, affordable driver that will bring a smile to your face, as well as to others who see it.
