Very nice RHD 1932 Ford Cabriolet. To answer your question, Australia never ever offered a 1932 Ford Cabriolet here, so you can put down Nil for Australia. Other Barners can supply figures for other RHD countries.

I know of at least two here in England and one that was sold from our local dealership that ended up in the US via Dave Waring who shipped it over when he emigrated there .This shot of Daves car was taken ,I believe,in the early sixties with Brian Websters old coupe in the background...now also in the US with its immigrant owner....John.

The guy I got my woodie off has one. Pretty sure Deuce Addict on here will know how many UK ones survive.

Wasn't there a hot rodded channelled one in the 70s? Caddy motor? Custom Car cover car? (AXM springs to mind for the reg.. could easily be wrong)

Mart.

I would say not many, that is one nice looking '32.

Re: How many RIGHT HAND DRIVE 32 Cabriolets exist

I would bet the one that was shipped here to the US was converted to left hand drive, that seems to be the "move Du Jour" when RHD cars get here!!!

Re: How many RIGHT HAND DRIVE 32 Cabriolets exist

That's interesting. If you have an American car here the UK it's an absolute MUST that it should be left hand drive.

@tiger1000
Back in the early 70's my dad almost bought a 1930 Model A phaeton that was driven from Argentina to here in Florida...the first thing the eventual owner did was tear out all the right hand drive gear and made it left hand...Here it's not a requirement!!!! I think its neat and part of the history of the car.....As fate would have it some 20 years later my dad bought a 1930 Model A phaeton that was a taxi cab in Argentina and its STILL right hand drive. I will admit though it is VERY hot to drive here in Florida sitting right behind (and over) the exhaust!!!! VERY hot on the feet!!!!

I knew of three RHD '32 cabriolets in Argentina when I was in South America on assignment with Ford, one of which I bought and exported to the States. It too was converted to LHD by its subsequent owner. Of the twenty RHD '32-'37 Fords that I exported from Argentina and Uruguay, only one of the three that I kept is still RHD and the irony in that one instance is that it had been converted to LHD locally sometime after 1948 when those two countries switched to LHD. When I restored it I was bound and determined to return it to its as-built configuration. The relative scarcity of RHD parts made that project challenging, to say the least.

There is one in Memphis. The owner is a Brit, who immigrated to the US with the car, and works for the local Jaguar dealer. But of course.

There was a very nicely done restored RHD 1932 V8 cabriolet in Livingston TN last year for sale. It was a very nice and accurate restoration with the correct original RHD exhaust. It has since sold (the price was cheap in my opinion). Not sure where it went.

David - I know of ten surviving UK registered rhd cabriolets, one of which is now in the US and one that is Irish registered that remains in Ireland. Of all of them I know too which one I would like in my garage...!!!!

Re: How many RIGHT HAND DRIVE 32 Cabriolets exist

From New Zealand there was a brown/black one with twin side mounts that was an average restoration that went to Canada last saw advertised in Hemmings maybe 15 plus years ago.
Also there is another one that was restored from a channeled hot rod and on the road now.
Supposedly 6 came to New Zealand.

Yes indeed David, looked for RHD engine tins for a 35 for 25+ years!!!! Chased many leads!!! On par with "hen's teeth" and the "needle in the haystack".

There was a member of the Northern Illinois V-8 club who owned a RHD 32 Phaeton, It was from India I think. He sold it a few years ago
