A little off topic Fall is a great time to ride around in an old Ford. Warm enough to have your arm out the window but a little cooler in the cab. The leaves are already changing a bit, the sun is shining.....Nice!!!

Re: A little off topic I've been driving mine every day since I put it back together.

Re: A little off topic Henry, have you given any thought on making a calendar using your pics.

Re: A little off topic Henry, your first picture with the white birch reminds me of highway 92 over Mt Tampanagos. Have you ever been there? If not, it's a must see! I took that route one fine summer day, not knowing anything about it other than I was headed west and it looked like a nice way to go! There was a fine misty rainfall at the summit, lovely single lane winding road through the tallest stand of birch I'd ever seen.
Beautiful pictures today, thanks! |
Re: A little off topic Highway 92 is, in fact, the Alpine Loop. I drive it at least a couple of times a year. It's a favorite of the "Queen Mothers". The first picture is at the top of that road and the 3rd one is at the bottom of the Provo side. The white bark trees are quaking aspens. Timpanogos Cave National Monument is on the American Fork end of the road.

Re: A little off topic Quaking Aspen? And I Thought they were White Birch! I looked at that picture for a while, and hadn't remembered a spot wide enough to pull off the road to take a picture. As you obviously did, my memory failed me. I wanted to stop, but the wife was freaked out by the place, afraid of bears, I think!

Re: A little off topic 1 Attachment(s)
We do not have the changing of the leaves out here, but it's real nice to cruise to the beach. Warm sun and an ocean breeze can't be beat.

Re: A little off topic 3 Attachment(s)
Here's a few shots, I just got home from a 2000 mile road trip to illinois and back to Denver, had to help my mother move in to a new home in her hometown..Kewanee Ill.
Drove my 1951 f1, had zero problems, except bugs on the windshield:), I consider them badges of honor:D One shot is an old brick entrance to the kewanee boiler factory, one is showing bugs on the window and the other is crossing the missouri river from nebraska into iowa along highway 34. |
Re: A little off topic Henry those are great pictures. But those last three are perfect.
|
Re: A little off topic You already have fall colors over there? I am planning to take mine on a tour/photo op as soon as the colors here start.

Re: A little off topic Prof. Henry those are amazing pictures! Make a calendar, I would buy one!

Re: A little off topic ++1
Nice photos. I don't have "the eye". Fall is the best time for cars and motorcycles IMO. Takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, but I can't afford to have something I don't drive (not really sure I would want a trailer queen, even if I could afford one;)). Driving them is what it's about, for me. Working on them can be fun (or therapy), but getting them on the road as much as possible is my goal. Plus all the smiles and thumbs up makes all the work you put in a little more satisfying. |

Re: A little off topic This is not my picture. It's 47COE's he posted a year ago on a similar thread (here: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83982) but it's one of my favorites. Hope he doesn't mind me sharing it again.
