y block fuel pump The fuel pump started leaking on my 272 y block. I received the new fuel pump. It came with gasket, fittings, and a bolt with lockwasher. What is the one bolt and lockwasher used for, and why just one? I thought maybe it was for a chevy to hold the pump actuator rod, but why the lock washer? Just one of those things that I keep wondering about. Thanks.. Delphi MF0063

Re: y block fuel pump It is on the deck floor of the boat from China because it fell out of that cheesy Chineseum cardboard.....
Too bad you didn't call me for a U.S.A. ethanol gas compatible Fuel Pump....... |
Re: y block fuel pump The Y-block fuel pump requires two bolts with lockwashers and one mounting gasket. One of the bolts probably did not get inserted into the box before shipping.

Re: y block fuel pump I was looking on Rockauto, and the picture they show of this pump, only shows the one bolt and lockwasher, but no explanation.

Re: y block fuel pump in these days of restraint you cant expect 2 bolts.

Re: y block fuel pump I never saw a fuel pump come with new bolts.

Re: y block fuel pump I got one for a 223 6-cyl and one for a 272Y-block that did include new bolts (both from a local auto parts store, but that was back in the early '90's (pre-NAFTA).
Thank you Mr. Trump for blowing up that piece of garbage that sent our manufacturing overseas. NOW, bring back our factories to good ole USA. |
