31 Roadster Bottom seat installation

I finally got rid of the 2x4 seats and now have real spring and upholstery to sit on.
My question is how do I fasten the seat bottom to the riser? There are a couple of holes in the top of the riser but unless I make some kind of "T" that is threaded I don't see any good fastening method.Maybe someone out there has done this?

Re: 31 Roadster Bottom seat installation

The seat bottom cushion sits on the riser and is just captchered and held in place by the vertical lip that goes across the front and down each side of the riser. This makes it easy to just lift the bottom cushion up and out of the way to gain access to the storage area under the seat bottom. Sometimes you have to work at it a little to get the seat bottom to fit down inside the lip on the riser.

Thanks for the input. I suppose with a driver sitting on it with seat belts fastened there is no danger of it comming out.https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ok, I'm confused! Nothing can come out!!! Are we talking about the bottom cushion which sits in a "tray" and can't possibly move, or are we talking about a backrest cushion that isn't properly bolted in?

My wife was afraid that if I hit a bump the seat might come out of the tray without it fastened down. Since my opinion dosen't count I will show her your response to put her at ease.
Thanks

No it will not come out on their own, this is the way Henry made the cars. I have thousands of miles on roadsters and have yet to have the bottom cushion come out on it's own. Usually, they fit sort of tight and they take a little work to get them out and back in place.
