Roy Nacewicz's business, and it's future

As most of you know, Roy's business has been closed down. His hardware business has been around since 1975 when he and two other partners (one is a Fordbarn member) started Dearborn Hi-Point Specialties. That later became Roy Nacewicz Enterprises.

Aside from losing one of my closest friends, Like others; I hated to see a business that has been such a great resource to us for over 40 years come to a sudden end.

The family gave me the opportunity to purchase his business. I took the financial stretch and decided to go for it. While the business will not be the same as it lost it's largest asset, we will try and make Roy proud.

We are hitting road blocks, like finding a close by affordable Cadmium plater, and some other sources issues we will have to work through.

We will reopen his business hopefully sometime the end of October... is the tentative plan. As time gets closer I will post the actual date.. PLEASE NOTE!! We will NOT take ANY orders or lists prior to the reopen date!

Also understand, that as time moves on some pricing changes will happen both in terms of increases and decreases.. Also on that note some items may be discontinued when sold out, and several NEW products will be added that Roy and I were working on prior to his death..

The business will for the time being operate under our current business Third Gen Automotive..

Thanks for accepting the financial risk to buy Roy’s business. This country needs more folks like you who aren’t afraid of the words “entrepreneur” and “capitalist”! Hopefully this new venture won’t take too much time away from your daughter.

Mike,

Will you be publishing a catalog of the fasteners just as Roy did?....

Re: Roy Nacewicz's business, and it's future

This is great news. After great sadness...
Congratulations on the decision.
It will be welcomed by so many restoration folks.
I'm sure I can speak for everyone who has been helped by Roy, that there are fabulous monuments to his knowledge and experience resting in fabulous garages all over America.
I placed a complicated (4 figure) order with Roy just before the end of year. Opening the boxes felt the same as taking a time machine back to the 1931 Ford factory and shopping for original parts.
I hadn't heard of his passing until late April when I got back to the States. I was truly shocked.
I'm extending my deepest sympathy to his family and those close friends who had a chance to know him well.
Please be assured of my continued support and endorsement in the restoration world.
John Baldwin

I hope you don't mind if I refer Model A folk to your announcement!?!?! Thanks

Michael.......You are the man Roy would have chosen IMO.
Just lining up turret lathe shops in the Volunteer State might be a challenge.
Congratulations........

Re: Roy Nacewicz's business, and it's future

Third Gen Automotive is why my 35 is on the road safely, plain and simple.

If this is gonna float, we're all gonna need to stock up on bolts and bits to seed the pot. Can't wait until I get the green light! I'ma be in for a bunch of fasteners!
