Help Identifying Model 1 Attachment(s)
Greetings the photo is my Great Grandfather next to his Ford truck dated 1923. Not sure if the date is right, but I am needing to identify the model and year if possible. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Re: Help Identifying Model Mid 20s Mack maybe, not Ford. You might try posting on; Smokstak® Antique Engine Community

Re: Help Identifying Model Looks like it could be a military standard Liberty surplus truck.

Re: Help Identifying Model Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Help Identifying Model The 8 holes in the front crossmember are typical of the Federal Motor Truck Company rig. I might guess 1918 to 1920 or so. Google images of 1918 Federal Trucks to see the similarities. The license plate looks more like a 1921 New York to me.
Cool photo. |

Re: Help Identifying Model Bet they could have been unbuckled from the inside before loading. :)

Re: Help Identifying Model Quote:
Could be, but how to roll them back up? Curtain appears to be tightly rolled under itself. Don't think it would work like a roman shade - maybe some sort of crank mechanism on the back of the truck? |
Re: Help Identifying Model LOL The question was how to unfurl, not roll back up! :) Maybe then you would need a ladder come next summer.

Re: Help Identifying Model Quote:
Actually, my question was how to roll back up as well as unfurl - note the bold: Quote:

Re: Help Identifying Model The reply was not directed to you, it was to the OPer.
