Tire Air Pressure Gauge 1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone give me a recommendation on a high quality tire gauge for my antiques and daily drivers?
My old friend Hank Wozniak, deceased former Milk Truck Driver, gave me a real nice analog tire gauge back in the 80s. That one lasted for a good while but failed eventually. I bought something from Bratton's in the 90s (I think) and that lasted a good long time too. For the last several years I have purchased several tire gauges. All have failed, even those offered by brand name auto part outlets. I am down to my last cheap tire gauge. Looking for a recommendation on a quality tire gauge. Thanks, TonyM. |

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge TonyM.
I've jumped to the modern age and carry a Ryobi battery operated pump. It gives you tire pressure and also the ability to maintain. While it will not fit in your glovebox -- it has been acturate and reliable. |
Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge I would get any of the analog gauges with a round dial and a small hose length, they usually have a bleeder valve and a rubber case around the dial. Like this https://miltonindustries.com/product...yABEgLRTPD_BwE Ive had mine for decades seems to still work well. I don't think any of them are made here anymore. If you want period correct go with vintage schrader valve gauge 7750T or 8106b.

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge I have analog gauges from Summit Racing, Griot, and another supplier; all read differently and inaccurately. The inexpensive digital gauge from Accutire is the one I rely on.

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge I have two, I have a "digital" one I bought from Griot's Garage several years ago and "mainly" the one I use. It seems to be dead on as when I fill my modern car tires the pressure I fill to is within 1 lb (mostly dead on) of what my tire pressure monitor systems say. I also use this one to fill my car trailer tires and that pressure needs to be pretty consistent from tire to tire and side to side and have had NO issues with any tire pressure issues with it. The only problem I have had with it is the battery died last month (after 5 years at least) and had to replace it. I noticed that Griot's doesn't offer a digital one anymore, only two different analog ones. The second one I have I bought at NAPA auto parts about 3-3-1/2 years ago, it is an analog gauge with the brass plunger that pops out as you inflate the tire, it has a long chrome tube with a dual fill end, one with a straight on chuck and a reverse 45 pull on air chuck on one head.....I have this one for filling the inner rear tires on my F350 Dually inner rear tires, near impossible to fill without it!!!1

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge I have a couple "talking" tire gauges. I really like em. Often I am in my dark barn, or twilight hours and the thing tells you the reading so you don't have to see anything. Also has a digital readout too. Mine are just cheap things from ebay, but they have lasted several years. Accurate? Who knows. Close enough for me and my old eyes.

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge Man with one tire gauge knows what the tire pressure is. Man with two tire gauges is not sure

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge Just purchase a high quality pressure gauge and make your own. Any length you desire. Then all you need to do is put your trust in it. About once a week I walk around 4 vehicles looking at all 4 tires. I also give them my finger push test. If one does not feel what I expect or look like the others on that vehicle I get the gauge. No rocket science at our house.

I purchased a Kobalt digital gauge from Lowe’s about a year ago they were marked $4.00, I see on the web site they want $16. now. I’m happy with my purchase still has the original battery also, check it with a few gauges I had laying around and their all within a pound of each other.

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge I bought a digital gauge from NAPA a few years back. I got to the point I was having too much difficulty reading the old style gauge.

Re: Tire Air Pressure Gauge Gee, I find the old style tire gauge sold at Walmart to work just fine.

Here are the two I got, the only reason, again, for a second one is the digital I cannot get on the inner rear tires on my dually!!!
