32 Cabriolet repro parts?
 

Hi,

Does anyone reproduce for 32 Cabriolet:

The stainless frames for the door window glass?

The pins on top of the windshield that locate and secure the header?

Door latch mechanisms?

Top kit, now that LB is no more?

Anyone have any of these rare bits?

Heck - all I want is the dang stainless channel that holds the rubber on the A-pillar to window seal. I have one . . . but boy do I need the passenger side! The 32 Cabs are a somewhat rare and unique beast . . . many parts are not common to any other body styles.

Lots of guys may be able to make one by the other. You’d be shocked at how many parts are fabricated on the rarer body styles

I too have a need for a pair of the cabriolet glass guides as does a friend, so if it helped to make it worthwhile for someone to replicate there could be two further sets added to an order.

Am too missing the top garnish molding above the screen and the door garnishes.

I didnt know of a cabriolet society for the 32 just the Model A Ford. It would be cool to have one or even start one.
I love the 1932 cabriolet and have a few plus extras parts ,door posts quarter panels etc.. Since they are hard to find parts and for them as well. We made the window frames and a buddy made the tracks and frames as well off originals. I made the garnish moldings off a set of the originals and really are pretty basic. I have yet to find or even see a window to door glass weather seal. Neither of my cars have them and would love to get or make them to make it weather tight.
Your door latches are 5w and Tudor just a different length rod . I believe I still have some window channels but built a bit different and better then the originals ..

Are the 32 Cabriolet window frames the same as the 33-34? I know the 35 through late 30's are the same but wider than 33-34.

The 1932 window frames are just 32 size wise but maybe the same construction and similar window channels

The rubber window seal looks the same as the later Ford convertibles (35-48). If they are the same then you can use the channel that is used on the later convertibles. You probably will have to shorten the channel. Had a '32 cabriolet years ago and I recall the channel and rubber came from repo stuff for the later convertibles.

Except for very early '32 cabriolets, the stainless channel and rubber on the A pillars is the same as later cabriolets and convertibles as TJ indicates. While I haven't checked lately, both Bob Drake and Dennis Carpenter offered excellent reproductions of both and also offered a fuzzy tape to cover the rubber to duplicate the original surface on the rubber. (Very early cabriolets used a narrower channel and rubber insert; it's all in the book.)

I lent my DavidG books to a friend . . . and of course he hasn't brought them back. Does anybody happen to know the width of the two different rubber seal channels for the A-pillars on a 32 Cab? I'd like to determine whether I need an early or late version. Thanks gang!
