1929 fuel tank I have a question for all you more wiser A fans. I need a fuel tank for my '29 station wagon. Model A parts are not that plentiful in the area were I live so when stuff comes up for sale you have to jump on it. I found a post on Craigslist for a tank removed from a '29 roadster. Do you think this would fit my model? I'm not sure if the cowel sections are the same for a wagon and a roadster. Thanks for any help.

Re: 1929 fuel tank It should fit a 29 stationwagon with no problems.

Re: 1929 fuel tank Check out Berts in Denver. I just bought a very good '29 tank from them. Shipped to East Texas.

Re: 1929 fuel tank Here in the Northwest, good, clean Model A fuel tanks go for $40 to $100.

Re: 1929 fuel tank Thanks Rusty. Let’s see if I can make it before it gets sold. Steamer he’s asking $150. Let’s see what happens. I have to go to Denver in April so I plan on making the pilgrimage to Bert’s.

Re: 1929 fuel tank Take a bore scope with you.
Even if the tank looks OK thru filler neck, they can rust badly up top around that filler neck from inside from condensation. Cheap scope cameras are available for your phone now. |
