Willie, that is the hydraulic pump for the windows and the convertible top if the Zephyr has one.

Not to hi-jack this thread, but, notice the louvers on the inner fenders of the Lincoln. I often thought this might reduce engine compartment heat. Other old cars also had these louvers. If I ever pull the front clip on our 46 I might give it a try. Our 46 is a driver not a show car. Any opinions??
