Re: Oil Pump for a 226 H Series 6 Cyl Ford Hello KiWinUS,
I called Bob at the information below. According to the phone company's automated answer, the number I am calling is no longer in service. Is your contact information the same? Half Ton Fun Bob Selzam 166 Toms River Rd Jackson, NJ 08527 United States 732-928-9421 No email though. Respectfully Marc |
Re: Oil Pump for a 226 H Series 6 Cyl Ford Is your existing pump visibly worn? Have you checked the oil pressure relief valve on the side of the block?

Re: Oil Pump for a 226 H Series 6 Cyl Ford Check bearing and axial clearance in the pump first.
If the axial clearance is to big that can be fixed by surface grinding the pumpbody. If the gears are scored/pitted/rusted you need parts for a rebuild or a new pump. |
Re: Oil Pump for a 226 H Series 6 Cyl Ford Hello Flatheadmurre
(Reaching out, 1950 226 H series 6 cyl flathead Ford Business Coupe. Looking for help locating an oil pump, new or rebuilt. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.) The gears have been replaced and the housing is in good condition, I have resurfaced the face plate. Oil pressure is approximately 50 cold and near 30 when up to temp and idling. We are actually looking for a new or rebuilt one for a spare. Many thanks Marc |
Re: Oil Pump for a 226 H Series 6 Cyl Ford Sounds like you have it up and running good.
Not sure you´re going to need the spare ever... they usually don´t quit in any catastrophic ways. Just keep an eye out and one will show up...probably long before you need it... |
