1940 hand grab Which side?
My 40 deluxe had one hand grab and I believe it was on the drivers side. If it were installed on the passenger side it would cover the light switch for the courtesy lamps. Both sides have holes for it. Which side does it belong on? If I had a second one I would install it also. Let me know if someone has one. Thanks |
Re: 1940 hand grab I believe Ford called them Passenger Assist Straps. They go on the passenger side (i.e., right side in US) and are easily swiveled to access the light switch.

Just remember the door locks on the CURB side ONLY so you're not getting in and out with the traffic. DD |

This is the one in my 40 Deluxe Tudor. Original upholstery . Just one assist strap on the passenger side .

Re: 1940 hand grab There is also special hardware that is used to mount the straps. It can be a little difficult to find and is not reproduced to my knowledge.
