Wiring diagram to see if motor runs?

I could use a simple basic wiring diagram to wire up a motor on a chassis thanks for your time Joe

Battery to coil, coil to points

Does this help?

Try this video. Not much to the circuit as the barners point out.

I really suggest anyone interested on this subject to watch Jackson YouTube video very good information!

Connect battery (and generator) to coil (-).
Connect points (through switch) to coil (+).
Connect HT wire between coil and distributor cap.

For negative ground, reverse coil (+/-) above.

and here's the simplest Model A ignition circuit ... which completely avoids ammeter and its wiring and switch and its wiring ( where short circuits or breaks could be causing problems). [PS ideally if ground is -ve then connect coil -ve to points. If ground is positive then connect coil+ve to points but it generally works OK even if coil polarity is incorrect!]

Roxo already posted, #3.

Note I edited my post for negative ground. But it will work either way.

The diagram in #3 is not the same as John's.

OK, same drawing, modified to omit ammeter and switch. To me, that's obvious, having no body. It's also implicit that you have to hang the coil somewhere. Hard to connect the points without the armored cable too.

May be obvious to you Badpuppy, but not to everyone:) . I was just trying to help the OP.

I always carry the end of an old ignition cable to screw into the distributor which makes hot wiring easy.
