Radiator Mount?

Are the mounting brackets on the bottom of the radiator of a 1930 sport coupe supposed to go under the fenders or on top? It’s mounted under the fenders now but wrong bolts tells me it’s been removed before.

Yep that’s what I have now. Someone had used bolts and nuts with square heads and the springs were underneath and tightened all the way down.

Re: Radiator Mount?

So the bolts come up thru the frame. Then on top of the frame it gets the rubber pad, then radiator mount flange, then spring, then nut? Can the radiator be spaced slightly higher if needed for alignment and cowl clearance?

Re: Radiator Mount?

I'd say it could be raised but from what I've read here (barn) it's the cowl, cab, frame that has gotten lower.

On the rubber pads that go under the radiator, do they go length wise side to side or toward the front to back?
