ford 360 motor into 1953 ford victoria

gentlemen is it the same as swapping in a 289 or 302 .I know you would have to have some sort of kit. but would a 360 sit down where a302 normally would.

No,when Ford went to IFS ball joint suspension and the first overhead V8 in 1954 the mount locations changed, in a 1954-56 you can flip the 360-390 FE mounts and it's just about a bolt in swap. Not so in a 52-53 the other issue is the oil pan 1954-59 cars have a front sump oil pan when doing a swap in a 1949-53 Ford the 302-351 swap involves using a later model dual sump oil pan to clear. You would need a pan like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Ford-F1...BYac6o&vxp=mtr A 302/5.0 swap is much easier and cheaper http://www.butchscoolstuff.com/52-53...t-kit-2501cpb/

Brockman (the muffler people) also lists a 302 in a 53 Ford conversion kit.
