Help identifying part

Need help with a fitting, Not sure what its called. So the copper tube that connects to the top of the timing cover and then leads to a fitting at the base of the carb (may be in the intake). The fitting goes thru the copper tube end like a brake line. Then has a hose barb on the end of it. I hope I'm explaining this well enough. On a side note, whats the tube for?

this is the best picture I could find online of it. Currently at work so i cant take one of my broken one.

Thanks in advance !!! And if anyone knows where i can buy one ??

That's a useful fitting. It screws into the manifold and takes a banjo fitting for the ignition advance and retard vacuum pipe and also provides a connection for the vacuum wipers.

I THINK that gizmo is called a muffler or silencer. Anyway, I would send a PM to barnfind08, another member here on the forum. I'd bet he has them NOS. That tube supplies vacuum to the vacuum brake on the distributor. DD

Sceptre...In my previous post, I suggested sending a PM (PRIVATE MESSAGE) to barnfind08. Barnfind08 is a member here on the FordBarn that does a great old Ford original parts business. More likely than not, he will have that 'silencer' among his many barns-full of NOS (New Old Stock), real Ford parts. His name is Fred Wilner. Contact him by PM and ask if he has that silencer? I've set you a link below to contact him. Just click the link and fill in the subject, and a message asking about the part. Good luck! DD

COOL! Let us know how it goes. If he's slow with a reply, remember that he MAY have traveled to the Dearborn convention this week. DD
